tart is the brain child of Anna Visscher, aka the tartress.  After years of making her own jewelry and selling it elsewhere, the tartress decided to jump off a cliff and open her own store.  tart opened in February, 2007 in a shoebox of a space in the Emerson Center for the Arts and Culture.  The original cast of characters included just 6 local tartists.  It has grown to include over 40 local and regional tartists making a little bit everything including jewelry, clothing, furniture, accessories, baby goods, art and more.   With an emphasis on recycled, repurposed and sustainable materials, tart strives to support Montana artists while minimizing its environmental footprint.  Oh - and getting you the very finest wearable and wallable art around. 

In May of 2009 tart moved up in the world – and across the hall into a larger, brighter, more fabulous space.  If you ever make it to Bozeman, be sure to stop by and say hi!

If you don’t find quite what you’re looking for, please contact us.  We carry many, many one of a kind, unique and custom products in the store that don’t fit on the website, and we would be happy to email you pictures of what we have or work with you to create something special.

Classes and Jewelry Parties
tart throws private jewelry classes and parties for anyone ages 5 to adult!  Have a party in the store or tart will come to you with a specially tailored class and all materials needed.  Class offerings include:  beginning beading, earrings, jewelry skills and repair, button bracelets, button jewelry, paper flowers, and more.
And tupperware’s got nothing on tart!  We’ll bring tart to you with hundreds of different jewelry and gift items.  You supply the guests and the wine, and we’ll have a party while you and your friends find something for everyone on your list, while gathering some nice hostess gifts for yourself!

Jewelry Repair
We can repair almost any jewelry, so bring in that necklace you love that’s been sitting in a drawer or that earring that lost its mate.  We’ll resurrect your old favorites or turn them into something completely new.
